What is the Open Water Diver Course?

If you want to learn to scuba dive, you came to the right place: the PADI Open Water Diver Course is the most popular dive course for beginners worldwide. It is perfectly structured and designed to take you to the underwater world with confidence in yourself and your skills. During this course we teach you how to properly use all of the scuba dive gear and we will help you do all the exercises that give you the skills that you'll use during your entire dive life.

The PADI Open Water Diver certification is an international certification that allows you to dive all over the world, either under supervision of a certified instructor or on your own accompanied with your dive buddy, to a maximum depth of 60 feet (18 meters).

Get your scuba diving certification with us and go on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this course.

How do we do it?

We start this three-day course with a theoretical instruction in which you get to know all about your scuba gear and the elements that are involved in diving. The theoretical part is followed by a training in the pool, in which you learn and practice all the basic skills of diving (such as removing water from your mask while underwater, or removing your regulator from your mouth, retrieving it and putting it back). On the second and third day we do the actual "open water dives", so we go out to sea. We go on a boat trip to several different dive spots, all with a maximum depth of 18 mts (60 feet), to put all of your acquired skills into practice and perform different exercises, always under the direct supervision of your certified instructor who helps you to increase your confidence and abilities in diving. Of course, during these dives there is also plenty of time left to enjoy the underwater world.

Adapt your Open Water Course

Your dive course, your way: the Open Water Diver course can be adapted to your own wishes (with an additional charge). You decide (if weather and ocean conditions allow for it) if you want to do the dives at other locations than Playa del Carmen. For example: you can choose to do the pool exercises in a cenote, or maybe you want to go diving for a day at Isla Mujeres or Cozumel. We can of course assist you with tips and suggestions so that this course becomes exactly the way you want it.
